Values in America

In this text, I will discuss values in America.
The text I have chosen as my main focus, is about the values in America, and what it is in America that is American. Which is also the headline of the text I have chosen.

Value isn’t just about the price on the new flat screen TV you have in your living room. It is so much more. Democracy is a value. Freedom is a value. Individualism, equality, justice, friendliness, hospitality, mobility and faith. Their all values. People appreciate these things, so it is a value. These values are used in America, and I think that without these, America wouldn’t be the same as it is today.

In the text (What is it about America that is American?) there are some values described as how they are used in America. In one of the values “equality”, we read, “All men are created equal”. I think this is an important value because it leads us to another important thing, “Freedom”. Freedom and equality is two values you can connect to each other. Without equality, it wold been hard to be free. Everyone should get the chance to be who him or her want to be, without that being wrong in any way. Without the freedom, it would have been difficult to show real feelings, express your meanings and be who you want to be.

I think that values are important, because as said before in the text, they make us to who we are. Without the values, no one could have been themselves. I think that without values the world would been in constant war, with no peace.

To conclude, values are thing that is important to every one another. Its things that everyone should appreciate and keep.

Checkpoint page 94.

Sam wants to know if the pregnancy test came out positive or negative, but he hopes that what his ex-girlfriend is about to say, could be anything, because she took a pregnancy test and now she is crying a lot. He hopes that whatever she is going to tell him, it will not be that they are going to have a baby together.

Checkpoint page 95.

She is telling him that “Because while the baby is in her, it’s my body. When it comes out, it’s our baby.” This is not true, because the baby belongs to both of them. If he don’t want the baby, he has a right to speak.

Checkpoint page 95.

Sam feels sick after talking about telling it to Alicia’s parents. He feels terrified by the thought of telling her parents, and his mother. He describes this like everyone is going to die. He think’s none of them can handle him and Alicia being parents so early in life. I’ve never felt like this before.

Immigration

1.  1.     The first immigrants that came to Norway, was from countries nearby, and Western Europe. After a while, people also came from Asia, Africa and Latin America.  People from 200 countries live in Norway today. Even Pakistan’s and Turks came to get jobs, and many of them still lives here.

2.    2.   The Norwegian and British immigration similarities are that Norway and Britain experienced a lot of immigration after the Second World War. This is because of the demand for workers in those jobs that didn’t get a big amount of salary. Since the 1950s, people from former colonies have immigrated to Britain, this has made them one of the most multicultural countries in Europe. Most of the immigrants in Britain have immigrated to UK. Immigrants in Norway mostly live close to the capital. About 12% of Britain’s population are immigrants, whiles in Norway 16% of the population are immigrants. Still, Britain is more multicultural, because this percentage doesn’t show all the people that have immigrated for a very long time ago.

When you teach your son, you teach your son's son

The quote "When you teach your son, you teach your son's son" by The Talmud says that what you learn or say to a person is going to be told again. It is like rumours, they go to one person, and then it goes another. Therefore, you know that you should not tell anyone lies or fake rumours. It can make someone’s life horrible. If you have a daughter and you show her your special recipe, she will use it and she will show it to her daughter. There are many examples and reasons for this quote, but now I told a few of them.

Poem

Im walking with my friends,
on a road that never ends.
The sun is shining in our eyes
we met some guys, and their giving us
their goodbyes.
It smells like winter
and we spot a sprinter

Difference between “you’ll never walk alone” , “I am a rock” and "no man is an island"

“You’ll never walk alone” is a song about helping each other get through tough times. It tells you always hold your head up high and do not be afraid, because everything is going to be fine in the end. You will never walk alone because there is always someone there to help you.

“I am a rock” is a song about being lonely. The song tells us that relationships with others can hurt, so some people may want to be all alone instead of having any relations with anyone else.
"No man is an island" is about being a part of something. Every man has somthing, and no one stands alone. It also says that we need each other.

I like the song "you'll never walk alone the best because, it's about helping each other, not being alone. I like to always know that there is someone by my side, so this song suits me.
